Recycling is one of the main components of the circular economy, saving over 700 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. Global Recycling Day was established in 2018 with the aim of recognizing and promoting the importance of recycling in the process of preserving the future of our planet and future of the humanity.

The Global Recycling Foundation has published the theme of this year’s Global Recycling Day, which, through the hashtag #RecyclingHeroes, promotes people, places and activities that play an important role in preserving the ecological stability of the planet.

The main mission of Global Recycling Day is as it follows:

– Communication with world leaders on the global importance of recycling and the need for urgent synchronized and shared access to recycling

– Raising the awareness of people around the world to think of waste as a resource
